CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION (CPSC) AND APA MARKETING, INC. ANNOUNCE RECALL OF HOME ENTERTAINMENT WALL UNITS
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and APA Marketing, Inc. of Commerce, California announce recall of Encore! Home Entertainment Wall Units.
Hazard: The control box for the touch dimmer lighting mechanism can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Description: The recalled Encore! Home Entertainment furniture is made of wood with a cherry finish and contains glass door fronts. Although the units were sold in several combinations, the entire entertainment center contains: two piers, a light bridge, a TV cart, and a pair of media storage cabinets. On the back panel of the piers, the name “APA MARKETING” is printed on a label. The black control box is located inside the left pier and mounted next to the tube light in the back.
Remedy: Consumers should unplug the light fixtures from the outlet immediately and contact APA Marketing or the store where the wall unit was purchased for a free repair.

CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION (CPSC) AND FEDDERS CORPORATION ANNOUNCE RECALL TO REPAIR WINDOW AIR CONDITIONERS
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Fedders Corporation, of Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is voluntarily recalling about 13,500 window air conditioners with electric heat. If the outside fan blade becomes blocked when operating in the heating mode, this unit could present a fire hazard. Fedders has received 10 reports of fires with these units. There have been no reported injuries and no serious damage has resulted.
The units included in the recall are 8,000 BTU window air conditioners with electric heat sold under the brand names and model numbers shown below. The model and serial number is located on the air conditioner cabinet near the bar code. The serial number of included units of the listed models begin with the following two letter code:

Consumers should turn off and unplug the unit and call Fedders toll-free at (866) 857-8015 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time Monday through Friday to arrange for a free, in-home repair. The repair will involve the installation of a heat shield on the unit by an authorized service technician. CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION (CPSC) AND BATH & BODY WORKS AND THE WHITE BARN CANDLE COMPANY ANNOUNCE RECALL OF VOTIVE CANDLES
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Bath & Body Works and The White Barn Candle Company of Columbus, Ohio announce the recall of “Real Essence” votive candles.
Hazard: These votive candles can burn with a high flame or irregular flame posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The company has received nine complaints of votive candles burning with high flame, two of which involved minor injuries.
Description: The votive candles were sold individually and in sets. A label on the bottom of the votive candle reads: Real Essence 1 ½” x 2 ¼”. The specific recalled votive candles are: Rosewood Tea; Lilac Blossom; Vintage Leather; Brushed Suede; Warm Vanilla Sugar; Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin; Spiced Cider; and Amber Myrrh. These votive candles were also sold in a six-pack set: Lilac Blossom, Spiced Cider, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. In addition, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin was sold in “the scented home quartet” set. This recall does not apply to any other Real Essence votive candles.
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these recalled votive candles immediately and return them to any Bath & Body Works or The White Barn Candle Company store for a merchandise credit, merchandise exchange, or a full cash refund.
