Lividity

the pooling of blood and fluid in a deceased body after death, physically indicated by discoloration of the flesh. Lividity occurs at the lowest part of the body and becomes fixed after 6-9 hours. Lividity is one of the indicators the medical examiner uses to establish time of death, position of the body, and whether or not a body was moved post-mortem.
