Hyperthermia

A condition of high body temperature that can cause brain damage or death. Simple hyperthermia is caused by a lengthy exposure to high temperatures that are not high enough to cause burns on the body, typically between 176F and 248F, according to NFPA 921. Acute hyperthermia is caused by exposure to high temperatures (sufficient to cause burns) for a short period of time.
