NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) PUBLISHES RECALL AFFECTING VARIOUS 2002 VICTORY MODELS OF POLARIS
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall affecting various 2002 Victory models by Polaris because there may be an increased risk of fire. The recall affects 1320 units that were manufactured between August 2001 and April 2002. If the schrader valve is not properly tightened, fuel leakage could result increasing the risk of a fire. Dealers will inspect all motorcycles and replace the fuel rails as necessary. Owner notification is expected to begin during May 2002. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Victory at (715) 294-5331. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall affecting Maserati 2002 Maserati Coupe and Sedan because the power steering hose may leak causing a fire. This could allow the delivery hose to leak power steering fluid onto the hot exhaust manifold and could cause a vehicle fire. The recall affects 352 units that were manufactured between September 2001 and November 2001. Dealers will inspect the position of the power steering delivery hose and install a positioning clamp. if the hose is damaged and/or cannot be moved into the properly aligned position, the hose will be replaced with a new one. owner notification is expected to begin during May 2002. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Maserati at (201) 816-2651.
