Abstract: This article summarizes the important safety measures
listed in NFPA 921 that a firefighter needs to know. One of the most important
safety precautions a firefighter must take is to make sure the electrical
power to the building is off before entering the structure. The article
explains how to make sure the power is off in a number of different scenarios.
It also includes some useful safety tips that are not included in NFPA 921.
