NSPII - Using Computers and Technology In Insurance Investigation: The
Internet and Beyond.
Abstract: This article provides a summary of different sources
of information available to fire investigators. 911 tapes, videotapes, recorded
interviews, answering machines, and caller I.D. displays can provide information
regarding the time events occurred. These devices can also confirm or disprove
alibis. Databases and credit checks are mentioned as information sources
available to investigators.
E-mail, cellular phones, and three-way calling are new methods of communicating
that are also explained in the article.
